Kaybee - Undisclosed Evidence / Infringement

  • Zero Tolerance recordings it seems have discovered another fine talent. At just 21 years of age, Kaybee (Kristo Beyrouthy) seems to be another producer with great promise. He has recently collaborated with veteran Zero man Gab Olivier, the produce of which won’t be seen until next year, however, his first release on the label comes in the form of ‘Undisclosed Evidence’ and ‘Infringement’. Side A. ‘Undisclosed Evidence’ ‘Undisclosed Evidence’ begins eerily enough in true Zero Tolerance style. It maintains a deep tech house groove throughout with some deep base in the drums as well as a subtle yet continuous creepy effect. A solid, but not too empowering, deep record on the A-side. Side B. ‘Infringement’ The strength in this release I think lies on the B-side. As with the A-side it maintains a laid back approach, using eerie effects, this time over a break beat pattern. It uses a lovely minute long breakdown midway through that is sure to play with people’s minds on a dancefloor, and comes back in with a subtle yet deeply embedded baseline amongst the broken beat. Both records I think don’t do justice on the speakers of a stereo system, rather, they require the power of a club sound system. Nothing too flash by Kaybee’s Zero debut, but he provides 2 quality tunes with good variety. There are definitely 2 reasons to get excited about Kaybee’s debut.
