Stisch – Bullet/From The Beginning Until The End

  • Stisch, who recently appeared on DJ Hyper’s Bedrock Breaks compilation (CD2) has come out with a new release first going into some 4/4 tech house territory and some 33 or 45 rpm bassline breaks on the flip. Side A. Bullet Sounding like a track that Meat Katie would produce, this is the sound of a tech house dancefloor at around 3 or 4 am when things get a little mellow and deep. This is tech house leaning a little towards the deep house sound yet still retaining an ounce of funk as the bass line gets the 80’s funky pop and slap treatment. Side B. From The Beginning Until The End Strangely enough (well anything is hardly strange with dance music these days) this track has 2 different personalities when played at 33 and 45 rpm so therefore it would be best to review at both speeds. 33rpm. At this speed you could almost say that this comes off sounding like an electro styled Rae & Christian produced number. The bassline gets quite melodic and, accompanied by the strings, suits a chilled out environment. It is, however, supposed to be played at 45 rpm and you can hear it with the cymbals crashes and some drum beats that sound slightly slower and lower than they should be. 45 rpm. At this speed, this track is good for the dancefloor. A very techy feel to it especially with the fact that the beat isn’t as prominent as the top end. The bassline sound you’d get at 33rpm is transformed into a higher pitched, almost melodic, bassline. However it doesn’t grab my attention as much as it did at 33 rpm.
