- Yoshitoshi release another huge tune, this time from chart toppers Narcotic Thrust as they present ‘Waiting For You’. Recently at the Miami Winter Music Conference, 4 different mixes of this track were dropped in the same night at the Yoshitoshi party which is a sure sign of the track’s status.
Starting off is the Dave Whelan & DJ Scala remix which is a solid piece of chunky house that utilises the uplifting feel of the original while adding a droning bassline and electro stabs. The huge breakdown features the vocal with nice melodies and stabbing synths that add that extra epic feel when everything comes together.
Stepping over to Steve Mac’s Dub as we see things move into a chilled groove with loads of sprinkling melodies and rolling electro grooves. The main melody gets a little acidy with squelching and squealing sounds.
MYNC Project’s Remix delivers are more stand up and deliver with mix strong snares and an 80’s like beat. The organic guitar riffs separate this track from the others while sliding some nice sustained and effected synths underneath. The vocal seems prominent when playing out due to the subdued sounds.
Steve Mac’s Classic is up next and feels a little the same in beat pattern as his dub, but the change is the classic piano chords that feature heavily throughout. As the vocal gets full play, the piano is fitting to the mood.
We see another dub, this time from MYNC Project as they give their remix a more electronic feel while retaining that 80’s beat. A very playful bassline walks the groove while quirky electro melodies twist and turn, taking this mix to a different level.
To finish off is the original as it presents things in a deep, classic groove along with heavy guitars and assorted, sustained strings. The use of vocals is seen throughout the whole track and is definitely the most commercial hit of the pack. The guitar adds a little spark as the track travels pretty consistently without many peaks.
Always willing to release a pack full of different flavours, I am sure many of these remixes will see the light of day in the main rooms of house clubs.
