- Over the past year, Ramon Sucesso made a name for himself with a couple of videos that went viral on Twitter. From his small bedroom, the Rio baile funk artist comes out smashing the DJ controller buttons, recklessly messing around with knobs and faders and playing tracks with an impressive velocity—a sight that stunned even baile funk fans accustomed to the genre's style of DJing. His debut album, Sexta dos Crias, released on vinyl last month, is less an attempt to showcase new music than a statement of his particular style of performance. It ranges from the bubble and Neymar-type beats on the A-side's 16-minute title track to the 150 BPM crumbling kicks on flip's "Distorcendo a Realidade."
