- I've always thought of DJ Steaw as the top of the heap of '90s Jersey house revivalists. Steaw even got the cosign from Kerri Chandler himself via his 2017 EP for Madhouse. This "east coast of Paris" approach makes this Ron Trent remix of a nine year-old track feel somewhat anomalous, but it's a stunner up there with the best of post-Prescription Ron Trent. The Chicago producer adds a new synth motif to the mix, which serves as the foundation for this melodic house masterclass. In a style exemplary of his recent work, Trent balances an insistent low-end pulse with expressive synth and piano vamping, all elements working together towards a deep, spiritual whole.
