- Next up on the always innovative Underl_ne Records comes the Strangers EP by Vivienne Projects.
Strangers is up first and I must say that it doesn’t get much more minimal than this, using a bare minimum of drums, a tapping effect and some subtle sounds and effects. A very unique and interesting production to say the least.
No Context has a good structure. It starts with some crisp beats and a gritty synth line until a humungous bassline rumble enters the track and takes control making this production a low end array of rumbles. Very nasty stuff here.
I Am A Bird is a fusion of tripped out percussive effects and some more low end madness. Some intense effects and sounds come in and out of the track in another production where words cannot begin to describe what's going on.
This Jam Stinks is last up and it comes to the table armed with another deep rumbling bassline , solid effects and more bouncy percussive elements. It is perhaps the most dancefloor friendly production on the album and it works quite well, keeping a good vibe and flow throughout.
Another twisted release by the Underl_ne crew, and one you may feel have a love or hate attitude towards. Despite this I'm going to sit on the fence.
