- The Club Punks are a duo of two men by the name of Chris Mulay & Hugo Cintron who have been making a name for themselves in NYC, and Sound of the Beats is their latest release on Peter Presta’s Apple Jaxx imprint.
Up first is Peter Presta’s Big Blue Room Mix, and as the name suggests this mix is very large in the drums department, flowing with some big kicks and strong percussion. There are some vocal lines that are prominent throughout, and they flow well with the effects and police siren sounds, turning this production into a big room tribal house fusion.
The DJ Rage Remix is another tribal number, using some even bigger drum patterns that thunder their way through the track at a more intense pace. The main focus here though is the intense drum patterns and intense breakdowns filled with atmospheric effects.
The Club Punks Mix is quite impressive, flowing with some smooth drum patterns and a large rumbling bassline that drives the track forward from the word go. The vocal effects aren’t as prominent in this mix as the others, but for me the strength in this remix lies in the smooth basslines.
