- Routrax & Dion make their first appearance on Wallop Recordings with Same Species, and the release is also armed with an enticing remix from Pillavin & Zimbardo.
It is the Pillavin & Zimbardo Remix that is first up, and they deliver a pretty dark and twisted remix thank to some great vocal samples as well as some chunky beats and smooth surrounding sounds and effects. It’s dark but pretty upbeat at the same time.
The Original Mix doesn’t have the spark in the percussive department like the a-side, and for me that’s not the only area where it is lacking. The production on a whole is quite lackluster, with some pretty dates sounds that don’t help matters.
