- Nascent records had an incredible 2004 and have started off 2005 with a bang! Their latest aquasition is Marris, another one of those talented Dutch types and this is his first single for the label.
Knowledge & Happiness is a simply sublime track awash with melody and drenched in emotion. It features an old school style piano which reminds me of Jakarta American dream but dont let that put you off, it simply adds to what is a great tune and probably one of the best ive heard on the label.
On the flip is a mix from Bart Van Wissen who takes the track into much deeper territory using the melodies more sparingly and gives the track a much techier feel, which is also nice but for me doesnt quite match the excellent original.
Nascent have set a very high standard for the year and with releases forthcoming from Ahmet Ertenu and Shmuel Flash they look set to maintain that standard!
