- "Narcissus" is the latest collaboration between Róisín Murphy and DJ Parrot, a DFA-affiliated producer better known as Crooked Man. A swirling epic of orchestral strings, its melody seems to channel paranoia. The strings are full of tension, echoed by the whispered vocals that channel one of humanity's least attractive qualities into a track that's full of energy itching to be released. Murphy's honey-sweet voice pairs perfectly with DJ Parrot's production to create a 2019 disco track that wouldn't have sounded out of place played by Larry Levan at Paradise Garage. It proves disco always has more to give.
