- Nick Hook and label manager Matt Black team up in this next production on Segment Records. The duo deliver two versions of this latest production from their studios, entitled Lifecycle.
First up is the Be your Own Boss Mix which begins with some solid beats and not before long, a deep smooth yet chunky baseline. Melodic touches are introduced into the production throughout, and as the track progresses they noticeably get heavier and more prominent. The track does have a good flow and build to it, and by the end, the production has hit full throttle with melodic patterns running rife alongside the solid beats.
On the flip is the Fingers To The Bone Mix. For me this isn’t as impressive as the mix on the a-side, as the flow and general arrangement not being as effective. Some of the sounds to me sound a little dated, and for me, it is quite weak compared to the solid a-side.
Not a bad release, let somewhat down by the b-side mix compared to the very solid a-side.
