Intastella - Arise 2004

  • 2nd Opinion Well this little beauty landed on my doormat today and I just had to put pen to paper straight away, Intastella are label boss Lee Morrison and his pal Alec Milliner, The two of them decided that wallop’s biggest tune to date needed a bit of a fresh makeover for 2004, And that’s what they did. The 2004 remake, starts of nice and dj friendly, With a chucky percussive groove being the order of the day, nice bass heavy stabs fill the voids well, with somewhat uplifting riffs that really works to great effect, the percussion just builds and builds to the break, Then the track takes a slight change in direction leaning more towards a techno feel (not to much) with a stomping bassline, simple but very effective, which I must say sounds great, overall a very good peak time tune that will sit well with many of the dj’s out there. The flip side takes a completely different take on things with a full on break beat mix from Karova & Boston George. One word for this mix massive! I’m not the biggest breaks fan out there , but this is really good, I will certainly be playing this one out, when its needed, a nice secret weapon to have in the armoury. Overall a good little package here, for breaks fan and slaves to the four / four beat!
