Pavel Bidlo - My Pills

  • Emerging international star, Czech DJ/producer Pavel Bidlo is definitely grabbing the attention of many big names throughout the world. Pavel was picked up by the Deep Dish boys recently for a release on Shinichi with 'Scissors Paper Rock' while Anthony Pappa used My Pills for his Balance compilation. The Original starts off moodily with dark drums and minimal percussion but is soon interrupted as the track changes from 4x4 beats to breaks. Sustained sounds melt over the lush beats as they are changed back over to a 4x4 beat with a great, groovin baseline. As the track builds with strong percussion elements, a heavily effected vocal spins off nicely in a short breakdown as it waits for the deep groove to appear again. Really solid production with a great arrangement of percussion and drums. Its minimal but holds a strong funkiness to it. Maurel & Fauvrelle bring out their Bingo Bango Mix and starts off with solid house beats and a dirty, grinding baseline, though toned down. Extended use of the vocal appears here and there while quirky high and low end sounds create a mashed feel. Most elements have a little edge that drive this track into any peak time set. An alert-like sample is looped to perfection as it bounces along with the beat. Not to be taken lightly, the deepness of the original remains but I wouldn't say that any elements could be matched up to the original. A great remix in its own right. This being Tao's 5th release, the label is going from strength to strength. This is a scorcher of a release with both tracks standing out on their own.
