- A track that almost been made famous well before its release, Stars by Invisible Inc (who is Barry Jamieson – one half of Evolution), has received great exposure when a certain DJ by the name of Sasha has opened many a set with the ambient mix. Unfortunately for those looking for the ambient mix, it is to appear later on Sumsonic, but fortunately, the ambient mix is not missed as the two mixes featured here are of high quality.
The Original Mix is very impressive indeed. The familiar melody floats beautifully for most of the track over some nice smooth beats and a deep and groove baseline that maintains the smooth and silky flow of this track. The melodies are craftily arranged, and the drums and baseline well fitted with them. Quality.
The Inc. Vs. Rogers Remix on the flip lifts the pace a touch, and while the melody remains, it is not entirely the focus with quirky effects roaming the production in the background. The melody is also given a tweak with effects smothering it at times, as well as changes in the melodic pattern. It’s a quality remix that doesn’t overuse the melody, and gives the release something a little extra.
An eagerly awaited release by Sumsonic, and one that won’t disappoint, with 2 good mixes of a track that has been heard a few times with the big DJ’s offering their support in the last few months.
