Little Wonder - Eclipse

  • Next up in the Lost Language tale is a story from Greek Producer Achilles Economou, under the guise of Little Wonder. As usual, this release has seen support already from a multitude of big DJ’s such as Pete Tong and Oakie, and it is clear to see why as 'Eclipse' is one of the better releases Lost have put out lately. It comes with 2 discs and the usual multitude of remixes! Disc One On the a-side is the Leama & Moor Mix. Its quite a nice remix this one, using some pretty standard drums under bubbly and melodic tones. It uses slight samples from the original’s melody and makes good use of good baseline note changes midway into the production. The production maintains an energetic flow throughout without heading into cheese territory. Solid work again from Leama & Moor. On the flip is the Fictivision and C-Quence Remix. Another energetic piece of work, this remix has a big focus on the arpeggiated baseline early on in the track. The track then breaks down midway into the original melody and it is from here that the production really takes off. Good baseline progression, some solid string patterns and an overall good combination of the elements make this another solid remix. Disc Two On the a-side is the Original Mix. It begins with some solid drum work and a nicely crafted baseline. Soon enough the melodies start to build from the subtle into the main melody. The track then takes a massive break down towards the middle where the main melody takes control on top of a deep baseline and some subtle strings. The track then momentarily takes a breakbeat approach with great effect and soon enough heads back into peak time mode as the drums kick back in. A special mention must go to the changing baseline notes deep into the track that gives it life until the very end. Nice emotive work here. On the flip is the Faraway Project Mix. This is by far the hardest mix of the lot and in my opinion the most shallow. It is ridden with overdone synths, however, it does have an interested quirky period towards the middle of the production. This will definitely appeal to those who like their music hard and to the point. Solid release from Lost, with the Original and Leama & Moor mixes standing out slightly ahead of the pack.
