Quadraphonic - I Can Feel Your Love

  • Next up in the Lost Language saga is the new one from Quadraphonic with 'I Can Feel Your Love'. Another 2 discer chock full of mixes, of which many have received big airply from DJ's such as Paul Oakenfold and John Digweed. On the A-side of disc one is Gareth Emery’s GTR Remix. A quite paced remix with some up-tempo drums and a little subtle pixie melody. As the track builds a melody reminiscent of the early 90’s piano sound is introduced, followed shortly by the main vocals of the record. The vocal leaves a little bit to be desired, as does the almost outdated nature of the melodies in the remix. On the flip is the Shane 54 Monster Mix. This remix isn’t that much better either. The vocal again doesn’t inspire much with the melodic touches, as well as the general arrangement, being a little too formulaic. It could all be a matter of opinion, but the first disc to this release shouldn’t cause too much of a fuss. On the A-side of disc two is the Kansai Mix. It’s a slightly better affair then the previous mixes with a more solid drum arrangement and atmospheric feel. The vocal is used a little deep into the production in a breakdown that introduces the main melody of the release, which then sees the production travel down peak time lane again. Not bad but not awe inspiring. That’s saved for the mix on the flip, the U & K Remix. You may remember them from their remix of Sasha’s ‘Wavy Gravy’, but this mix is in my opinion a better outing. The broken beats start of the production with a gorgeous subtle piano melody ringing in the background. The vocals are severely effected and sound the best in this mix. An acidic base features as well as do subtle atmospheric strings in the background. Towards the latter part of the production the track goes all twisted to brilliant effect until the vocals return with a vicious synth, as well as an addictive baseline chord change. Fantastic stuff from the U & K duo. Solid release with enough variation in the mixes to appeal for all. Worth a look.
