Los Tujilos – Part 2

  • After the success of their previous joint venture as Los Tujilos, which wound up as one of Wet Musik’s finest releases to date. Umek and Valentino headed back to the studio to churn out another four track release for Australia’s premier techno label. Part Two in this Los Tujilos series looks like so... A1 – Standard Procedure Slapping you in the face with its intense techno sounds, from the beginning, is that of ‘Standard Procedure’. It sounds much like something Mauro Picotto would drop when he is playing one of his deeper (less trancey) sets. Definitely a peak-time club tune. A2 – Tuna Tuna is a stomping techno number with a mid-section that sounds like a techy house track … on speed. And it works very well - interesting to say the least. B1 – Neighborhood The first on the flip, is a yet another nice techno production that begins with a minimal yet strong bass-line and progressively builds from there. It features a simple breakdown without losing any of its strength and (rather nicely) pounds away to a close at a solid 140bpm. B2 – Strive For Your Rights This last track on this release is another with the usual kicking sounds of Los Tujilos, it features a one massive build-up and winds out in style. Overall this is a mixture of great techno sounds. Each track features different touches and styles and if you’re a big fan of Umek and Valentino you will have to get your hands on this latest collaboration.
