- This is seriously hot stuff from Cevin Fisher. Subtitled "New York Resolution" as a thumbs-up in the current uneasy climate, it offers the best possible antidote. Bursting out of the blocks with CF's own "Love You Some More," we are led through some good builders from Chris Staropoli and GTS feat Karyn White, leading to two quality Ananda Project tracks. The first of Mona Monet's guest appearances is as vocalist on 7's fantastic "The Power Of Soul"—they don't come much more uplifting!
Fisher's style is predominantly house, but there's a lot of variety within this—vocal, progressive and even elements of trance. The mood gets deeper and funkier towards the close, where Cevin's own "Nikko Sun" harks back to the early 90s with a classic keyboard riff. Best moment of the disc however is the organ fireworks introducing the dub of Ananda's "Glory Glory." The whole package shows that NY house is very much alive and kicking, and is thus one of the "must haves" of this year.
