Tall Paul Mixed Live - 2nd Session - Club Space Miami

  • Kicking off with Cloak and Dagger's booty shacking 'The Boat', Tall Paul instantly puts you inside the club, replicating that feeling you get when you first stepped inside a club. The sound is very rough in that sense (not in a bad way) and was actually recorded Live from the Miami’s famous Club Space. You even get the screaming crowd in the background, but it’s toned down enough so that it doesn’t get in the way of the music. Helping lay the funky upbeat start for this Miami set is YBF and the Danster Remix of 'Dreaming'. Pushing it 'dirty' Paul continues with one of Richard F's recent club hits. And ‘Pearl’ follows with its slow and moving synths and it begins the CD on its uplifting journey. JXL's remix of Sandy vs Housetrap's 'Overdrive' keeps things pumping in a great deep house manner. And Oliver Klein’s ‘dirty disco remix’ of ‘Shinny Disco Balls’ takes the edge off the vocal and is a much less cheesy affair than the original, which works very well! Revolutions low riding phat bass-line begins the build up that lasts up until the massive breakdown on P.I.M.P’s ‘Why?’. And from there Tall Paul takes things even higher... Sunshine continues building before the warming amazingly sounds of Warrior’s ‘If you want me’ come into audio view. This track is a pure dance-floor hit and the vibe that grows as the song progresses is what most producer’s dream of creating… if you are yet to hear this release – its pure class and joint together with the sounds of the live crowd it will have you in goose bumps. It’s definitely the peak moment of this set. But it is not over yet, with a great vocal number that brings the energy levels down somewhat and leads into the last massive trance number ‘Magic Impuls’ by Exposure. The disc takes is taken to a close with some epic building trance synths in a very Tiesto like fashion. Overall you can see the uplifting trance background on Tall Paul turning what looks to be a fairly housey release (from the tracklist) into a great euphoric mix. It combines various genres in forming a true Live compilation that is a great pre-party CD leaving you in perfect steps for a big night out. It even comes with a DVD in Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound disc, which for those of you with a high tech sound setup, will leave you in front of some truly amazing Live sounds. The only problem with this is that, with the whole menu system they have provided, the least they could do is supply some video footage to go with the music. But on the other hand it is a bonus disc, so we shouldn’t complain.
