  • The 3rd installment from DJ Quest's new sub-label, Funkatech, sees him pulling out the hard breaks once again and also sees the emergance of a new player in the breaks scene with L-Jay. Side A. DJ Quest - Fuct Beat With a sample loudly proclaiming that he "don't give a fuck about no beat", Fuct Beat is really nothing new from DJ Quest, using similar elements as can be found on his Rat Sessions CD. Familiar breakbeat patterns and liquid basslines, Quest uses a "if it ain't broke don't fix it" approach to this track. Side B. L-Jay - Nu Wayz Rave-breaks should be a new genre coined by the media publications out there, especially with the rise of tracks that have that old-skool rave feel and L-Jay's Nu Ways is a perfect example of such. Old-Skool rave stabs, heavy bassline, a beatbox sample and a Darth Vader sample providing the title of the tune, this track is sure to "find new ways to move you!" If you do decide to get this, it would definitely be for the L-Jay track, no doubt.
