Kriece & Basek - The Belmont Forum EP

  • Isn't it great when you can to sit back, relax and put your feet up while listening to some good music? Cp Recordings don't seem to think so as hot on the tail of Nikki B&Christian Effe's "African song" comes Cp's latest from the Australian team of Kreice & Basek who come up with a neat and tight two tracker - The Belmont Forum EP. We have expectations of what's to come and from the start. Submission doesn't fail to disappoint as a melting pot of tweaky sounds and fidgety percussive hits work hand in hand with a more tech based rumble provided by warbling bassline. This isn't it as more head melting sounds are sparsely added together with a vocal cut that only serves to twist our way of thinking. Track B comes in another neatly wrapped package dubbed The Shnizzal. This is more heavy set with beefed up drums , constantly altering percussion from skippy to glitchy and moving in phases with squeaky, gurgling fx sounds , filtered vocal stabs and soft intermittent chords that add another edge to this exciting track. Its house but not as we know it with Kreice&Basek who seem to have a knack of stitching together music that is clean, precise and to the point.
