- The first release from Harlem Electric comes from label manager and owner himself, Steve Lawler. The third of the Harlem labels, Illectronic Music is the track that is armed with getting this imprint off to a good start.
The Vocal Mix is first up and I must say it is quite a solid production with a very retro vibe. The track has a lot of good features, be it the smooth chunky baseline, the retro riffs and vocals, and the somewhat acid lines that come in deep into the track. One thing the track definitely is that it’s quite unique despite the massive onslaught of Electro music lately.
Unfortunately the curse that is a too similar Dub Mix is yet again in full force here, with the b-side almost providing an identical experience to the a-side!
Nevertheless it is a pretty good way to kick start a new imprint. Worth a look.
