- Next up on the Mantra Vibes offshoot, Mantra Smiles, is a release featuring a set of artists that have already produced the goods on this label. On the a-side, Alex Dolby makes another appearance and on the b-side, Fabrice & Mreux team up.
First up though is Alex Dolby with ’Untitled Valley’. It has the trademark vibes of an Alex Dolby production, that being the enchanting smooth sounds of the beats as well as the aura of the smooth strings and atmosphere. It is an interesting track, with nice melodic trickles and a subtle looped electro pattern that gives the track its soul. Perhaps not as anthemic as his previous hits, it is still quite a solid production.
On the flip is Fabrice & Mreux with ’Funk O-Delik’ and they in turn deliver a pretty solid house production with plenty of balls so to speak. Good flowing baselines combine with a very quirky set of drums and percussion. The track gets a bit trippy towards the end with some intense synth patterns but in fairness they work quite well with the beats and lower end sounds.
A pretty nice release here on the Mantra Smiles imprint with both tracks providing very good moments.
