  • Chus & Ceballos return to Stereo Productions and this time they team up with Tedd Paterson to bring you a very chunky tribal house number in In Stereo (Part 1). Along with the storming original mix, the release is armed with a David Penn reworking. The Original Stereo Mix gets the ball rolling however, and the track flows nicely from the word go with solid percussion forming the foundations. Soon enough, a smooth bouncy baseline enters the track giving it a solid groove and funk. It must be said that it is quite a solid production, as it mixes solid tribal drums with a good groove, very much in a Steve Lawler mould. Apart from the few breaks with the vocal sample, the track flows quite nicely throughout. On the flip is the David Penn Urbana Remix. The drums are quite not as tribal influenced as the original, but nevertheless the percussive aspects are quite nice and solid from the word go. What is even more solid is the fantastic baseline pattern that is formed very soon into the track, and it is a highlight that makes this remix even funkier then the original mix. A very solid release on Stereo, emphasizing the fact that this label out of Spain is definitely on par with some of the leading labels of the world.
