Transluzent feat. Be - Angel (Rui Da Silva Mixes)

  • Having not heard the original tune, I can't comment on how far Rui Da Silva has taken it, but aside from comparisons, I'll give you the low-down. Fans of Rui Da Silva's work should be instantly at home with this record, his trademark mid-tempo, deep, funky and melodic touch is evident from the the first bar. The tune is quite an epic piece, simple and filtered melodies harmonize with the backing strings and drive onwards and upwards, making way for the touching vocal when necessary. Harking back to the earlier days of dance music, this is pure 1996, Northern Exposure style, and comes complete with an Instrumental mix for those less vocally inclined. A very long tune, some 12 minutes or so, but effective at the right time. Personally, I've heard a lot better from Rui Da Silva, the structure of the tune is quite simple and the vocals aren't awe-inspiring, but I have the feeling this tune will go down very well with fans of the more mainstream progressive sound, especially the ladies. I don't think Rui could make a bad tune if he tried.
