Tiger Stripes - Sisters EP

  • With great artwork and a release schedule that runs like clockwork, Loco Dice & co. work hard to retain Desolat's contemporary edge. Following a steady, if not outstanding, 12 months for the label, they begin 2014 with label debutant Tiger Stripes' Sisters EP. The title track shows Tiger Stripes, a seasoned purveyor of big-room tech house, at his most comfortable. A male vocal and dial-tone synths stride atop a rolling bassline, but it's not until the Swede's trademark delayed stabs hit midway through that the record's power is revealed. If super-clubs are your thing, expect to hear this one out and about. For fans of smaller spaces, tINI presents a brilliantly warped, dubby take on the original. A promising sign of her improved production skills, this is among her best work. Seeing us out is "Keep A Movin," an uncomplicated yet effective display of the deeper and slightly darker side to Tiger Stripes' repertoire. Strapping jagged growls to a tumbling bassline, it's dance floor tech house at its most refined.
