Adam Freeland - We Want Your Soul

  • The lead single from Freeland's debut artist album is the massive We Want Your Soul which has been getting massive plays in the clubs. Original mix and Radio edit A lethal combination of electronica beats, hard rock guitars (apparently influenced by the music of Tool and grunge rockers Nirvana), heavy metal drum fills make up the rhythm - has a very Prodigy feel to it. The female vocals samples feel like they've been lifted off a bleak sci-fi movie (in which a select dictatorship few or machines are our overlords no doubt!) and Freeland has included a very well timed sample from comedian Bill Hicks. Product 01 Remix This remix is more on a techy-electro tip with a little industrial edge to it. Plenty of subtle variations to the original theme including some twisted bleeps and bloops. Infusion Remix Infusion's remix strays away slightly from the rock theme and moves into progressive house while keeping the hard rock guitars to a bare minimum. Dramatic buildups typical of progressive house feature nicely in this remix and Infusion add in an acid melody to the top. Ed Rush & Optical Remix The most surprising remix out of the bunch, Ed Rush & Optical take the original and speed it up past the 160 bpm mark for a drum'n'bass remix. It's sounds like a crossover between rock and drum'n'bass, something which I haven't heard since Roni Size/Reprazents last album, however it's not something which I'd personally find inspiring enough to go out and grab my back catalogue of d&b CD's - I like to keep it rolling and funky. For those who don't give a rat's and just respect the drum'n'bass sound anyways, this mix is difinitely for you. Something for all tastes is represented in this single and it even comes with a slick video clip CD-ROM component!
