- Having called time on his popular Bedlam parties in July, Tim Green moves onto his next project: the launch of his first record label. Disc Over Music debuts with an EP from Green, backed with remixes from Timo Maas and Toronto trio My Favorite Robot.
"Just People" is the release's biggest track. A cascading bassline tumbles over firm kicks and a melange of xylophones and snakelike synths. After an eerily subdued breakdown, a thunderous set of piano chords arrives out of nowhere, accentuating the force of the bassline. Assertive and catchy, it's classic Green. The My Favorite Robot remix sticks close to the original but enshrouds the elements in a gauzy film. Though trippier, its punchiness feels watered down. "Monomania," with its rising pads, bass swells and starry synth licks, saunters at a steady pace. Timo Maas juices it up with an underlay of pounding half-step kicks, his impactful, techno-driven remix rounding out a solid start for Disc Over.
