- The first three entries in Developer's Archive showcased a melodic but tough brand of techno not wholly distinct from the work on his more well-known label, Modularz. Archive 4 remains in the same territory, bringing together five tracks with big low-ends and a sinister streak.
Opener "Moments of Clarity" is the most upfront of the lot, with chord stabs taking centre stage while hi-hats crash in and out of the frame. The rest of the tracks are, loosely speaking, DJ tools, though each seems to have been crafted with a different time slot in mind. "Reaching" and "Run For The Dark" are geared for peak-time, with the latter's vocals standing as the release's most memorable moment. The atmospheric "Ursae Majoris" is probably the weakest effort, while closing cut "The Galaxian" will best serve DJs keen to add something hypnotic to their arsenal.
