Underwater Vol 2 mixed by Darren Emerson and Mutiny

  • Darren Emerson’s Underwater is currently one of the hottest labels around, and on the evidence of this double decker they’re set to rock Ibiza once more this year. If anything the parting between them and Subliminal has done both labels no harm at all. Emerson himself kicks off with a bouncy, jacking house party set which eases in slowly but then ups the anti with Sharam Jay and Paul Jackson, the latter courtesy of Darren’s Edit on ‘The Push’. There’s also Gus Gus and the LA More mix of ‘Call Of The Wild’, but pride of place goes to Tim Deluxe and his newest anthem ‘Less Talk More Action’, set to be massive in the next few months if not already. South London guys Mutiny, fully accommodated into the Underwater stable, give a slightly heavier mix, with tribal overtones courtesy of Derrick Carter’s insistent ‘Where U At’. This rubs shoulders with Sandy and Robbie Rivera tracks (are they related?!) and Kid Crème. Very promising ahead of the boys’ debut album. As Underwater gears itself for this in addition to new records from Emerson and Tim Deluxe, they look set to go from strength to strength. Apart from anything they’ve come up with a compilation that’s set to kick start many a Mediterranean summer.
