- Endlessly fascinating. That's Gabor Schablitzki, if nothing else for the myriad and intriguingly obtuse monikers he's dreamt up in a decade or so in music. These days he seems to have settled on Robag Wruhme, although there's nothing settled about his approach. Techno may be at the core of all three tracks here, but it's predominantly of the headphone variety.
Dntel is Jimmy Tamborello, formerly one-half of floaty electronic alt-popsters The Postal Service. In Wruhme's hands, "Bright Night" morphs into a sweet, lysergic, mid-summer punt down the canal; tinkling glockenspiels are joined by reversed minor key synth horns to lounge over subtle, shuffling percussion.
The first of two mixes of "Jitters" is a gentle, slo-techno affair, loaded with warm jets of skittering percussion and banks of sun-flecked organic analogue keys with what sounds like scuttling insects running on top of it. The Emmen Worsch mix of "Jitters" is the nearest Wruhme comes to the dance floor here—although it's probably best suited to a twilight beach party—combining an understated, proggish synth motif, a vocal sample so brief it's merely half a syllable and a distant, bassline rumble. An unerringly lovely offering.
