Jay Tripwire - Deep Rumbler 2003

  • Northern Lights return to action with a remake of the track that kick started their label, Jay Tripwire's 'Deep Rumbler'. On the A-side is Deep Rumbler 2003. The tribally drums of Tripwire start proceedings, caressed with vocal snippets, and then a very sexy baseline. Despite no major variation throughout the track, the drums and baseline elements work fantastically together giving the track a very smooth groove throughout. Also on the a-side are some DJ tools for the experimental mixers out there. On the flip is firstly Deep Rumbler 2000. Nowhere near as tribal as the remake, the 2000 version has a focus on the 4/4 beats and vocal samples used. The baseline is not as existent as the 2003 version, and its quite clear to see the improvement he made to this with the remake. Also on the flip is Deep Acid Rumbler. This version maintains a nice groove throughout, and also uses a neat baseline giving the production its main essence. The other main feature is a nice acid like melody used throughout as well as nice floating effects. Definitely the highlight on the b-side. The 2003 rework is definately worth a look, with its beautiful drum patterns and addictive baseline. Check it out.
