The concept behind the label god particle was born on a long Tube ride in London a couple of years ago while reading a 'get to know' article on the Large Hadron Collider and its work to discover the 'God Particle', which in theory functions as the basic building blocks that form our visible universe. DJ's daydreams on train rides naturally drift towards music and how it connects with life, and the connections seemed obvious- how some of the most treasured tracks are also the most simple, loop-driven songs that work perfectly at binding everything together while mixing. So god particle is born, a new home for friends here in Chicago and beyond that are interested in showcasing this type of work. Loopy, groove-oriented house and techno tracks that connect the dots for DJs during their sets. The series will feature vinyl-only limited releases and pressings, each with it's own color and design created by Justin Kohout- the visual artist of god particle.
