In 1995 Rough Cut records was brought to life by Jamez. In 1994, Jamez already started Touché records together with Dobre (Chocolate Puma, The Good Men). Where the Touché sound was more tech house, Rough Cut gave Jamez the possibility to experiment more with the harder sound of techno. Minimalistic, acid, distorted breakbeats, but always with a touch of soul and warmth. Sometimes difficult to classifie, but that didn’t stop DJ’s. With limited pressed vinyls it found it’s way in record cases all over the world.
Among Jamez's mind wobbling solo techno experiments, other strange projects like Boom! (by Laidback Luke) and Pitch Black (by DJ Paradise and John Consemulder) and the best selling project The Electric 10 ( by Jamez and Jerry) with over 5 releases, saw their music pressed on vinyl. The Electric 10 is surely the most succesful projects, for example, it got noticed by Kevin Saunderson and put on his X-Mix compilation album.
After 10 years of silence, Rough Cut is back.
