About

  • Pure Sonik began in 1996 as a solo outlet for Detroit's Alan D. Oldham (a.k.a. DJ T-1000) after the end of its artist-driven predecessor label, Generator. Beginning with deep, DJ-friendly experiments in repetition, loops, and signals, then progressing into full-on Detroit Techno, Pure Sonik has stood the test of time. Its catalog features such guest talent and remixers as Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Bryan Zentz, Regis, and The Advent, among others. Most consistent is the production of the Berlin and Chicago-based Alan Oldham himself. Behind the scenes, we are currently sorting out new European vinyl distribution for 2011. Digitally, Pure Sonik is now available on Bandcamp, Beatport, and What People Play.
