About

  • As a spontaneous idea, Solaris Records was brought to life in 1998 to give notice to the Russian Elektronika scene on the rest of the globe. It is representing an enormous creative potential of Russian and other GUS artists, ranging from pure electronic to several kinds of fusion. Situated next to the cutting-edge Discocsid Recordstore in Moscow, the project kicked off from the SolarisStation Studios (est.1995), a treasure for composers of popular Electronica of the first hour in Russia. Its founders are Boris Zlenko (Moscow) and Evgenij Rybakov (Moscow), themselves composers and Djs with a meanwhile wide experience. As DJ SPY.DER and DJ FISH (composing together aka Conservators) the two Muscovite artists have been continually touring through European cities as Russian ll-Star ambassadors. Artur Neuwirt (St. Petersburg / Munich) manager, connector and therefor European promoter of the label. Besides our releases, we are also pioneering a network, seen as a cultural exchange, hopefully resulting in a completely new connection to modern Russia. Hence, our endeavors have been enlarged on the intermediation of artists and DJs from and to Russia. No wonder that an increasing number of artists from Russia are trying to dock on at Solaris Records. To satisfy their hopes and to present our music in a clear distinction, Solaris has built two further divisions lately: Zamir Music (Russ.: “for peace”) for Downtempo releases, and Krysha Mira Music (sponsored by the famous roof-deck club of the same name in Moscow). Our label releases dance music ranging from Minimal to TechHouse.
