Back in the year 2000 it was the dream of two young hopefuls, Andy M and Swannie aka the BCR BoyZ, to run their own record label with an honest work ethic and heartfelt philosophy. Tired of seeing labels created just lusting after fame and fortune, they wanted to do it just for the love of music. Now eight years on they have made their dream come true and to a greater extent then they could ever have imagined. Bare Cheek Recordings has in the span of a short few years achieved a reputation for excellence and innovation in this crowded field.
To date Bare Cheek Recordings has had two vinyl releases. The label’s first release, BCR 001 “The Way Of The Samurai” was co-written and produced by Iain Cross, the BCR BoyZ and Jon the Baptist. It Can Not Be Done is a solid pumping trancer with loads of energy culminating into a powerful climax, the flip, Acid Fool, rinses out the 303 and delivers a squelching bouncy acid fest. It had fantastic success for a first release, played all over the World, even finding its way into Paul Van Dykes record box, who played it on many a radio show and at the Love Parade in Germany. The second release, BCR 002 “Lost In Las Vegas” again had huge success and was favored by the likes of Chris Liberator. The A side Acid Frenzy, written by the BCR BoyZ and Jon the Baptist, is a techno hybrid with vibes of both trance and acid and the B side Acid Frenzy - Schranz Remix was written by Germany’s DJ Arcane, ranking 4th best new comer and 7th best producer in Raveline magazine. BCR 003 is due to be released very soon and promises to be just as bigger success as its predecessor’s. The A side “The Devil’s Anger” written and produced by Iain Cross and the BCR BoyZ and the B side “Ass Is Everything” written and produced by DJ Arcane (Germany) is the labels first 100% Schranz release. Moving with the times, Bare Cheek Recordings has plans to set up BCR Digital, and release some of the back catalogue of our artists incredible studio work digitally.
