Wind Horse Records was formed in New Delhi in August 2009, earning the distinction of India’s first house music label. Wind Horse was devised by prominent Indian DJ and producer Hamza who gained early distinction with impressive releases that seamlessly melded house music rhythms, traditional instrumentation from Indian and other world musics, and admirably high production standards. Cultivating and exposing India’s laudable pool of electronic music talent has been another goal of the label, and Wind Horse has succeeded in introducing the world to names such as Audio Units, Priyesh Patil, Vinayak^A, Soulspace, Llewellyn Hilt, Oma, Stalvart John, Kartech, and Asvajit Boyle. Wind Horse also partners with musicians from ‘the west,’ as the label includes renowned remixers and artists from the electronic music world. Inland Knights, Ross Couch, Steve Mill, Matt Prehn (as The Ritual), Spirit Catcher, City Soul Project, Juan Mejia, Harold Heath, and Gion are among the artists on board for the Wind Horse project.
