  • Horse Meat Disco is a club night and DJ collective whose legend is bigger than just about any niche you could try stuffing it in. Originally based out of The Eagle in South London more than a decade ago, the party was the city's earliest and largest night to bring back the classic disco sound of New York's bath houses and gay clubs from the '70s. The music, along with the inclusive and enormously fun vibe, struck a chord both in and out of the gay scene, attracting an enviable roster of guest DJs. A series of seminal compilations, a New York residency, a wholly unique party at Glastonbury and hordes of DJ gigs (from residents James Hillard, Jim Stanton, Luke Howard and Severino Panzetta) have turned Horse Meat Disco into a decidedly international concern. Stephen Titmus touched in with Howard and Hillard at our London office recently to hear the magnificent story of "the queer party for everyone." Horse Meat Disco play this year's Love Saves the Day festival in Bristol, which runs from Saturday 24th to Sunday 25th May.
