  • The famed Berghain selector goes deep.

  • Ben Klock kicked around the Berlin circuit for a number of years before he found the club that he has since become synonymous with: Berghain. Their profile has grown in tandem, step-by-step, to the point where both are now recognized as among the finest in their fields. Klock's reputation was built in part due to his marathon sets at the club, nights (and days) in which he'd help to define what has become known simply as "Berghain techno." (He's showcased this on officially released mixes for Berghain's Ostgut label and, more recently, London's fabric.) Klock is also an accomplished producer, his tracks finding a home on Ostgut and the self-run Klockworks imprint. On the occasion of his recent mix CD for fabric, we talked to Klock earlier this month about his beginnings in the Berlin club scene, his new mix and what American DJ DVS1 has taught him about playing at Berghain.
