  • Richie Hawtin's eagerly anticipated Contakt party will take place as scheduled at London's SeOne next weekend. M_nus HQ have confirmed to RA that the club will be open for their party despite initial uncertainty following the murder of a clubber at the venue in the early hours of last Sunday. Following an extensive police investigation, SeOne will regain its license by the end of next week. This still means that parties planned for this weekend at what is the capital's biggest nightclub have had to be hastily re-housed, with both the Circo Loco DC-10 reunion and Bizarre Ball moving to The Coronet in Elephant and Castle. Meanwhile questions are obviously being asked about how a gunman managed to get his weapon past security at Saturday's Bobby & Steve Presents soulful house event. The metal detector arch at the venue was allegedly not working on the night and regular visitors to the club have been quick to point out the potential of passing items directly through the fenced outdoor smoking area. No doubt the venue's security will be fully revised for the forthcoming parties with the approval of the police. With the fate of Unit 7 still in the balance after a separate shooting incident nearby that was unrelated to the club, London certainly doesn't deserve to lose yet another of its major venues for any reason, let alone senseless acts of gun crime. Advanced tickets for Contakt have now sold out, but a limited number will be made available on the night.
