A new initiative from the United Nations (UN) is helping raise money for conservation by listing NATURE as an artist on Spotify.
Launched yesterday, April 22nd, AKA Earth Day, Sounds Right will help fund climate action initiatives by donating NATURE's streaming royalties to Brian Eno's Earth/Percent charity, which launched in 2021 to direct funds from the music industry towards climate crisis projects.
To participate, artists must credit NATURE in their tracks as a featured artist. 50 percent of royalties from theses tracks will go to EarthPercent, as will 70 percent of royalties from tracks added to NATURE's Ecosystem Sounds playlist. Artists such as London Grammar, Bomba Estéreo, Mø, AURORA, Cosmo Sheldrake and Anuv Jain have already backed the campaign.
"Sounds Right is a groundbreaking music movement," said the UN's Melissa Fleming. "It unites people around the world in a shared commitment, recognising the intrinsic value of nature. Together, we must act now to protect our planet for our common future."
