Scratcha DVA, AKA Scratchclart, has a joint EP with Durban artist Menzi on the way.
Out on April 28th via Hakuna Kulala, Beyond Gqom & Grime is a futuristic release that combines elements of the two genres. The two artists played back-to-back for Boiler Room in February, and collaborated on Scratcha's 2021 EP Drmtrk Re:clarted.
Scratcha's first release on Hakuna Kulala, Beyond Gqom & Grime follows recent EP Drmtrk XIX, which featured Skream, Mez and Scotti Dee among others. Prior to that he produced Lady Lykez's EP Woza last October.
One half of the duo Infamous Boiz, Menzi returns to the Nyege Nyege Tapes sub-label following 2020 EP Impazamo. The gqom pioneer has since released remixes on SVBKVLT and Tra Tra Trax, and recently collaborated with fellow Durbanite MK Productions on single "NUZ Bang."
