Hosoi, the Stockholm listening bar, has settled on a new location.
The news follows the March 2021 shuttering of the original Hosoi, which hosted the likes of Beverly Glenn-Copeland, Sadar Bahar and Mary Lattimore. The new space is located just outside the city limits in Slakthusomårdet, known as the former meatpacking district (as well as the informal rave district). A 120-year-old slaughterhouse is currently under construction with plans to open in late summer 2022.
Blueprints for the new space include a 350-capacity sound and listening room, which will host DJ sets, live shows and comes with a larger soundsystem than the original Hosoi, constructed by the Tokyo-based Kenji Hosoi. The space will also integrate a wine bar, restaurant and workspace.
Hosoi will launch a number of fundraising initiatives for the new venue, which has been secured on a five-year lease. Keep up with the project here.
