- It'll come out through Running Back in November.
Mark Barrott will release his new album, Nature Sounds Of The Balearics, on Running Back in November.
The LP is the International Feel boss's follow-up to the well-received Sketches From An Island series, and it sees the Ibiza resident moving from a software based workflow back to hardware, according to the label. Beyond that, the new album addresses "the schizophrenia of our times: the late Paul Virgilio's dromology and logistics of perception versus a decelerated life outside of cities, internet algorhythmics (sic!) versus meditation and the excessive stock market (all track titles are derivates of that world) against a tactile way of living."
Known for his Balearic DJ sets at Hostal La Torre, Barrott calls Nature Sounds Of The Balearics his "techno album," but notes that "for people whose definition of techno has to do with speed (again) and kick drums that might seem like a misinterpretation."
It's his first release on Running Back, though he's collaborated with label founder Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer as part of Talamanca System. Nature Sounds Of The Balearics is the latest entry in the Running Back Incantations series of non-dance floor releases which launched earlier this year.
