- The new imprint is for the dance floor while the parent label focuses on albums.
Solar One Music is starting a new sub-label focused on functional electro.
The Jena, Germany-based label has long been associated with electro—thanks to releases from founder The Exaltics, Dopplereffekt and E.R.P.—but its attention has turned towards albums and more open-ended projects. Between Places, Solar One Music's new subsidiary, puts the focus back on what it calls "pure electro." The first EP comes from Das Muster, AKA German producer Markus Mumm, who previously appeared on Solar One. The EP features five new tracks that the label says should please "all who like the old, cold and dark sound of Dopplereffekt."
