  • Jesse Rose is set to release his debut full length early next year, entitled What Do You Do If You Don't? Rose will precede the album's release with a single called "Forget My Name," which features Hot Chip's Joe Goddard on vocal duties. Clocking in at over ten minutes, the track is a stripped back tech-house bumper with a generous helping of Goddard's vocals. We caught up with Jesse by e-mail to ask him a few questions about the forthcoming album.
What can we expect from your forthcoming full length? Lots of cheeky house music! Has it been a long time in the making? In actual fact, this is the third attempt over three and a half years! The first two times I wasn't happy because of one thing or another, so I deleted the whole thing and started again. This time I'm really happy with the result. Are there any other collaborations on there apart from your forthcoming single with Joe Goddard? Yeah, there are collaborations with Hot Chip, David E Sugar, Switch and The Incredible Beatbox Band. Also, Oliver $ came in and helped on a track and I mixed the whole thing down in LA with Switch. Has being based in Berlin informed your production style at all? I think so, yeah. Playing at Panorama Bar makes you take things deeper and that has meant that many of my tracks have, I think, matured.
Dubsided will release What Do You Do If You Don't? in early 2009.
