djaid comes to East Village

- The clean water advocates will throw their first anniversary party in the capital this week.
- Robert Owens, Justin Robertson, Guy Williams and more will perform as part of djaid's first birthday celebration. The organization, which presents its parties in order to raise money for water projects in developing countries, will be holding this particular shindig at East Village, with an after party planned for Cable Street. The founders of djaid have only been hosting things for a year, but they've been thinking about water issues for far longer: After a stint in the UN, they met together to talk about how best to bring awareness to the tragedy of people in Third World countries living without access to clean or safe water. We're guessing that they'll be passing the proverbial hat around this night, so feel free to bring a little extra to do your part.
