- The experimental producer will release his second album on Type in December.
Type Records co-founder and experimentalist Xela will release his second album on the label in December.
In Bocca Al Lupo seems appropriate for release today, given its translation—"In the Mouth of the Wolf"—but fans will have to wait a bit longer to hear what Xela, AKA John Twells, has come up with. The record, which spans four lengthy tracks, according to Fact Magazine was inspired by the producer's travels to "cathedrals and decrepit churches of Spain and Italy." We're guessing that this means that there'll be a suitably gothic vibe to the proceedings, which will bring elements of the slow-motion doom metal propogated by Isis, Jesu and others to the world of experimental electronics. After all, the label is calling this thing "the true sound of desolation."
