  • New York City's Bunker party will have a special ambient edge this Friday night. As a result of a canceled festival, DJ Spinoza and Derek Plaslaiko will be hosting a "deep listening session" at 8 PM before the usual party begins. Kompakt's Klimek will headline the early show, with sets from Daniel Menche, Keith Fullerton Whitman and DJ Olive also promised. The duo certainly aren't hosting because they have to: Experimental music has been a large part of the party since its inception with sets from artists like Carsten Nicolai and Christian Vogel coming earlier this year. This particular night will be a unique opportunity to hear both sides of the electronic spectrum in one place, as closing the night out will be a full-fledged dance party with a Spectral Sound showcase. Lee Curtiss, Ryan Elliott and Plaslaiko will each take turns on the decks throughout the evening until the owners at Public Assembly turn on the lights.
